Scream Team Releasing (The Barn, 10/31) is Breaking Indie Horror Records With A Movie Sale Every Day for Over A Year and a Half (1.5 yrs)!- Fitz of Horror

Written by Bryan Fitzgerald (Fitz of Horror) May 14, 2018

A fairly new distribution label but ran by people that are by no stretch new to the industry, Scream Team Releasing is headed by The Barn director Justin M. Seaman and has come out of the gate on fire and doesn’t show any signs of letting up any time soon!

At the time of this article, Scream Team Releasing has sold at least one copy of The Barn or 10/31 every day for 534 days. In the independent horror world this is a gargantuan feat. This means their reach to fans is getting around the ridiculous Facebook filters and actually getting to the people in unique and interesting ways, their customer service is amazing, their convention presence is great and all of this on top of the label being run by an established indie horror fan/director that knows what the fans want and more importantly in respects to running a distribution label, he makes sure the filmmakers get paid and their movies reach new audiences.

Scream Team Releasing statement-

We started selling The Barn on November 27, 2016. We had hoped to sell maybe a thousand DVDs over the course of the next year if we were lucky. It is now 500 days later and we have sold nearly 8,000 copies between DVD, Bluray and VHS! All those sales and we’ve never had a day when The Barn movie hasn’t sold a copy in that time frame. Thank you to everyone who has supported the film and continues to support our new label Scream Team Releasing and it’s new releases.

With various editions, some very limited, of the Halloween themed anthology 10/31 (read my review HERE) and The Barn (review HERE) available now, Scream Team Releasing has a special title release announcement coming this month and the film will fit quite nicely in their lineup of 80s throwback/retro feel horror films.

There are some recent indie horror films that I have seen that I fell would be a perfect fit for the STR distro label, mainly Close Calls (review HERE) from Richard Stringham, Bong of the Living Dead (review HERE) from Max Groah, She Was So Pretty: Be Good for Goodness Sake (review HERE) from Brooklyn Ewing, The Witching Season (review HERE) from Michael Baliff and James Morris, Pieces of Talent (Review HERE) from Joe Stauffer,  I’m Dreaming of a White Doomsday (review HERE) from Mike Lombardo and Attack of the Southern Fried Zombies (review HERE) from Mark Newton. I feel like all of these indie films are not only great and need to be seen by as many people as possible but that they would fit perfectly into the lineup that is being put together by STR.

I know that Scream Team Releasing is looking to add a few more films to the mix so hit them up at screamteamreleasing.com with entries. Be a part of the future of indie horror distribution so I can have a killer blu ray to add to my collection!

Keep up the killer work guys, we need a label like you to keep the hard working indie people relevant and reaching new audiences!
