Filming Has Begun on the New Friday the 13th Feature Length Fan Film “Voorhees” and It Exudes Chaos and Intensity!- Fitz of Horror

Director Cody Faulk and crew have begun filming on the feature length Friday the 13th Fan film “Voorhees” and after one week of shooting in the books the buzz is building to a fever pitch.

I have been following this film since it’s Kickstarter and with the people involved, the passion and knowledge of the director and the official praise of Kane Hodder, I have to admit, my expectations are high. I have seen a few behind the scenes stills and videos in the VOORHEES Facebook group and they look great but Cody gave me the distinct privilege of viewing about 30 seconds of raw footage from the shoot and I was blown away.

I’m even more excited than I was before about this film. The clip I was able to see didn’t feature Jason himself but it did feature blood, chaos and pure intensity. Faulk has a way with the camera that sucks you into the feeling of the moment happening on screen by giving angles that feed the craziness of the scene and make you feel like you are part of the carnage taking place on film. The crisp movement and surprisingly great production value gave this small clip a very “cinematic” feeling and made me forget I was seeing a rough cut of an indie horror movie. There was also a very jolting primal scream from a male character who was in agonizing pain in this clip. It was already intense but his screams gave the clip a very “real” and uneasy feeling of  fear.

I am not at liberty to share these videos and clips but I can say that if you are a fan of intense horror this seems to fit the bill nicely. Cody is keeping the Jason kills under wraps until the film is complete but promises a raw intensity of violence that the camera won’t be cutting away from.

I am going to go on record here and say that there is something very special happening with this film. Every so often a director will catch lightning in a bottle, so to speak, and create something so unique that it transcends to more than just its target audience and becomes a film that everyone seems to at least heard about. Voorhees has that special kind of feeling.

THE OFFICIAL “VOORHEES” plot synopsis-

They committed the perfect crime.  They planned for every possibility.  But they never planned for him…

After pulling off the perfect heist a dangerous crew of thieves flee town to the seclusion of the nearby woods. All they have to do is make it through the night so they can get away clean but their sadistic leader has taken them to the long deserted Camp Crystal Lake, a place that is no longer on any maps and for good reason.

Unaware of the locations notorious past the fugitives begin to explore their temporary hideout and soon realize that this place has a very dark and violent history that they are soon about to become part of.

It is a race to morning where the lines between bad and pure evil are blurred and the fight to survive the awakened legend of Camp Crystal Lake is much more than they bargained for.
