In “Strange Monsters,” mysterious things are happening at the BioGen4 research facility just outside of town. A number of mutants and odd creatures are loose in town, picking off unsuspecting victims and leaving a trail of blood in their wake. “Strange Monsters” wears its grindhouse-spirited b-movie crew in its sleeve, packed full of flesh and blood.
Award-winning indie horror filmmaker Joe Sherlock is a veteran of over 30 feature and anthology films. Writing, directing, shooting, editing and scoring most of his own projects, Sherlock’s extensive body of work includes “Drifter,” “Beyond The Wall of Fear,” “Blood Creek Woodsman,” which have been screened at festivals, conventions and cool theater pubs across North America.
Joe Sherlock is co-producer and director of photography for “Manos Returns,” the official sequel to the cult classic and Mystery Science Theater 3000 favorite, “Manos: The Hands of Fate.”
An accomplished illustrator, Sherlock’s latest work is a graphic novel entitled “Demonized,” published by Hard Case Comics.
“Joe’s movies are a great example of how unique low-budget horror can be from all the other product out there. He plays by his own rules. It’s true renegade stuff that is unlike anything you’ll find in the mainstream.”
– Andrew Shearer, AthFest Music & Arts Festival
“Drive-In Academy Award nominations for Joe Sherlock, the writer/director/composer/editor, for doing things the drive-in way.”
– Cult movie critic, Joe Bob Briggs
