VOORHEES, The Feature Length Friday the 13th Fan Film Reveals Its Official Plot Synopsis…….And Kane Hodder Approves!- Fitz of Horror Breaking News Exclusive

Written by Bryan Fitzgerald (Fitz of Horror, Jason Voorhees Hall of Fame) April 13, 2018

Back in February when Wet Paint Pictures Kickstarter goal was reached, Cody Faulk the Director and visionary force behind the “Voorhees” feature length fan film, decided to let the backers know what they were a part of by dropping a very dark and menacing teaser trailer showing us what the tone and quality of the film would be but most importantly, what their Jason Voorhees will look like.

Now just 2 months later and only weeks from resuming filming, Cody and the esteemed production team have entrusted me to deliver the official plot synopsis to the world. After hearing what the director has in store for us, I personally can’t wait to see what they eventually put on film for us all.

And here is THE OFFICIAL “VOORHEES” plot synopsis-

They committed the perfect crime.  They planned for every possibility.  But they never planned for him…

After pulling off the perfect heist a dangerous crew of thieves flee town to the seclusion of the nearby woods. All they have to do is make it through the night so they can get away clean but their sadistic leader has taken them to the long deserted Camp Crystal Lake, a place that is no longer on any maps and for good reason.

Unaware of the locations notorious past the fugitives begin to explore their temporary hideout and soon realize that this place has a very dark and violent history that they are soon about to become part of.

It is a race to morning where the lines between bad and pure evil are blurred and the fight to survive the awakened legend of Camp Crystal Lake is much more than they bargained for.

After talking at length to director Cody Faulk, it is very apparent that he is a true student of the horror game and that he has an unparalleled desire to bring back the sadistic and brutally violent Jason Voorhees that we all know and love. He has promised gut churning gory kills and a high body count but also character development mixed with a story unlike any ever done in the original franchise. This film will have a black heart that is powered by the fans love of the franchise and the highly anticipated and long awaited return of the greatest slasher of them all.

Cody Faulk, Director “I wouldn’t say this is a traditional ‘Friday the 13th’ because we wanted to put our own stamp on it.  But it is a “Jason” movie, and at the end of the day that’s what people really want to see.”

What kind of Jason Voorhees will Cody be bringing to the screen you ask? Well let’s just say that he attracted the attention of horror icon and arguably the most popular to ever play Jason, Kane Hodder. Kane stands at an intimidating 6’4” tall and when our Jason from the upcoming “Voorhees” film stood face to face him at a recent convention it prompted one of the best (and yes this is official) quotes we could have hoped for……..

“That’s a big mother fucker!!”-Kane Hodder

Now that his size has been put into clear perspective, we can only imagine the carnage that he will carry out on screen to our unlucky victims. “Voorhees” isn’t just measuring up to being one of the best Friday the 13th fan films ever made, it is putting itself in line to be regarded as one of the best horror fan films period.

With the personal approval of a horror legend like Kane Hodder and the amazing show of support from the fans, Faulk is even more driven to create a film that stays true to the roots and not only fills the Friday the 13th void in our souls but also a movie that is worthy of being mentioned in the same breath as all of the Friday the 13th films before it.

What are people saying about “Voorhees”?

“We’ve gone back and forth with the plot and a ton of rewrites.  But from day one the thing we really wanted to focus on was making sure the film has a big body count.  That’s always been our goal.”

Chris Plaushin, Producer

“The kills in this movie are awesome.  They’re either going to have people cheering…or cringing in their seats.”

Christopher Inlow, Actor

“The decision was simple. I wanted to back a movie that would bring the true horror and grit of the original films back to life. Voorhees has proven to be that film” “Their Jason looked absolutely amazing. They understand what us fans wanted, and they F***ing nailed it!”

Peter Dorsey, Our largest Kickstarter Backer

And just to refresh your memory, this is the world premier teaser trailer of “VOORHEES”…….

As far as teaser trailers go this one is nearly perfect. The mix of the foreboding music (yes that was a nod to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre in there) and a very intense and amazing looking Jason are the perfect mix to leave viewers wanting more.

This is some raw test footage of our new and very pissed Jason Voorhees in action with “The Machete Throw”

Just a quick run back of what this film is about and how it got started…

“Voorhees ” is an Independent Friday the 13th fan film eager to bring to you the darkest most sadistic Friday the 13th Film to date.

From writer/director Cody FaulkWet Paint Pictures originally embarked on a quest to make a short Friday the 13th fan film true to the franchise’s iconic history while putting on our own unique stamp of thrills and intensity. What we discovered during months of pre-production and principal photography is that we have a longer story to tell. The independent film “Voorhees” is now heading towards what is likely a feature-length production. This in itself is an unexpected challenge but one that was not planned but born of the creative process.
An ongoing challenge we face is remaining true to the historic genre of the franchise so that fans will enjoy the film while also providing them a fresh perspective on the story. Fans have certain expectations for a film of this type and we will follow in those footsteps. At the same time, we are adding a unique twist that offers fans additional depth and texture to the characters.
All of our horror scenes are done utilizing practical effects. We want these moments to jump off the screen and bring the same chills that fans have seen for decades in theaters. At the same time, achieving what we consider screen worthy moments involves a great deal of trial and error and finding the right mix of lighting, camera angles and body parts takes a great deal of time and effort. In addition, and as you can see from the pictures in the video, the locations for “Voorhees” consist of numerous abandoned structures in various states of disrepair. While this provides for an enticing movie set with myriad opportunities to bring you true cinematic horror, it is also leads to some dangerous circumstances for both cast and crew. Safety is our number one goal and every day we are filming we have to constantly be alert for unintended risk.
Wet Paint Pictures thanks you for considering supporting our final push to complete this independent film. We truly hope to scare the hell out of you!

The fans have officially helped bring Jason Voorhees back from the dead one more time!
