From Hex Studios & Hex Media and brilliant director Lawrie Brewster (Lord of Tears, Black Gloves, The Unkindness of Ravens) comes a new Lovecraftian Gothic horror tale about a life size and very lifelike clock work doll known as The Infernal Princess.
From the looks of the trailer it seems to be actually quite creepy. With Brewster behind the camera, Automata will no doubt have twists and turns to keep you guessing and a creepy atmosphere that will draw you in and not let you go.
What is is about?
Automata is a Gothic thriller, filled with spine-tingling twists and gut-wrenching dread that will linger with you for years to come. Our supernatural tale pits a lonely widower and his stepdaughter against a foe like no other, a three-hundred-year-old, life-size clockwork doll, known as ‘The Infernal Princess.’
Automata tells the story of antiques expert Dr Brendan Cole, who receives a mysterious call inviting him to authenticate whether the discovery might be ‘The Infernal Princess’, a legendary automaton that vanished long ago without a trace.
But it’s just a story, a myth – at least, that’s what Brendan has spent his career arguing. Yet, as the cogs begin to turn, the twisted machinations of ‘The Infernal Princess’ are unveiled, threatening the present through the power of its own dark past.
Soon, inconceivable horrors are unleashed upon Brendan and his step-daughter Rose, as one spine-tingling twist follows another, until the terrible truth of ‘The Infernal Princess’ is finally revealed, in a haunting finale that will linger with you for years to come.
Automata features a new and terrifying horror icon, never before seen on film… until now.
‘The Infernal Princess’ was considered so lifelike and uncanny in its day that it provoked fear and awe among all who saw it. During its unveiling in 1786, the clockwork doll performed five ‘great feats’ which were so incredible as to defy all explanation.
Its inventor was celebrated as a genius, until the first tragedy occurred… followed by another… and another…
There are tons of great rewards available including all of their blu rays, Owl Man plush, shirts, name in the credits and a sneak peek at the new Automata packaging.
From Hex Studios & Hex Media-
We need your help to complete production and post-production on what is our most ambitious film yet, featuring epic-scale historical scenes set during the Age of Enlightenment in 18th century Europe.
With your support, we can complete our film with all the grandeur and scale we envisage, and market it so that we can show it to the widest audience possible.
We’ve used our own money so far, along with support from our friends at Dark Dunes Productions, but to complete production and to finish post-production, we need your help.
We’ve dedicated everything to creating fresh, exciting, and, above all else, original horror films, but because of this, we do struggle to get mainstream funding. The only way that these unusual, risky films get made and released, is with the support of fans like you. So, we sincerely hope you’ll join us on our exciting adventure, and help us to show the world that there is an appetite out there for original, edgy stories!
In return for your support, we’ll work tirelessly to produce rewards that you’ll be proud to own, and films that you’ll love to watch. Rest assured, every penny we get we’ll match with our own blood, sweat and tears as we devote ourselves to making Automata our best film yet.
