VOORHEES (2019) Drops an Epic Trailer #2, A New Poster AND an Official Release Date of 9/13/19- Fitz of Horror

Bryan Fitzgerald (Fitz of Horror/Jason Voorhees Hall of Fame) May 5, 2019

Synopsis-

They committed the perfect crime.  They planned for every possibility.  But they never planned for him…

After pulling off the perfect heist a dangerous crew of thieves flees town to the seclusion of the nearby woods. All they have to do is make it through the night so they can get away clean but their sadistic leader has taken them to the long-deserted Camp Crystal Lake, a place that is no longer on any maps and for good reason.

Unaware of the locations notorious past the fugitives begin to explore their temporary hideout and soon realize that this place has a very dark and violent history that they are soon about to become part of.

It is a race to the morning where the lines between bad and pure evil are blurred and the fight to survive the awakened legend of Camp Crystal Lake is much more than they bargained for.

The Voorhees team has done it again. Out of nowhere, they bless the patiently awaiting fans with not only an iconic new poster by designer Cory Coffman but also an epic trailer that concludes with an official release date of Friday, September 13th, 2019. Shit just got REAL!

With trailer number two, director Cody Faulk not only improves on his previous trailer (HERE), which has been viewed over 320,000 times to date but expands on the storyline and some of the nefarious characters he is bringing to the screen. Also within the first 30 seconds of this new trailer, we are treated to at least three original franchise Easter eggs proving again that Faulk is a student of the game with deep knowledge and love of the franchise and most likely the best candidate to bring the fans a feature-length Friday the 13th fan film.

After the first 30 seconds, we hear the ominous voice of someone with a grave warning about those who “go crossing into his grounds”. The plot thickens. As we see a bit more of our antagonists than in the previous trailer and truly begin to appreciate the inescapable situation they seem to have gotten themselves into. CUE THE MUSIC.

In what takes this great trailer to the level of being epic is Faulk’s choice of music coupled with the amazing camera work. With the smooth and melodic sound of Nat King Cole’s iconic song “Smile” playing over the following scenes of intense and brutal violence, the trailer takes a seemingly elegant yet undeniably vicious turn into a small work of art that you can’t take your eyes off of.

Faulk also seems to give us a glimpse of what appears to be Jason’s lair and an unknown and very unlucky person discovering it. Most importantly though, he gives us a few more new looks at Jason himself and from what I see he has brought back to the screen the intense, violent, unrelenting, unstoppable and intense Jason we all love and miss……..and he’s huge so if they’re lucky enough to get past one of his weapons of choice, they still have a mountain of a slasher giant to deal with.

Voorhees team, you have my undivided attention and now the countdown to Friday, September 13th begins……..
