The Horror Show’s Interview with “VOORHEES” Director Cody Faulk–Kickstarter Campaign is Live!

Written by Bryan Fitzgerald (Fitz of Horror)- January 21, 2018

“Voorhees ” is an Independent Friday the 13th fan film eager to bring to you the darkest most sadistic Friday the 13th Film to date.

In case you missed The Horror Show live podcast with Cecil and Fuego Sunday afternoon when they interviewed  VOORHEES director Cody Faulk, you can check it out here! (Kickstarter link below).

Wet Paint Pictures project, “Voorhees” is currently in the Kickstarter phase to raise funds to shoot their feature length Friday the 13th fan film. At the moment, they are at 60% of reaching their $8,000 goal.

What’s in it for you besides seeing Jason Voorhees killing people again???

Backer rewards are plentiful and some are absolutely to die for. For as little as a $20 donation you can have you name featured in the credits, $30 gets you a Blu ray, $50 gets you a screenplay, a poster a t-shirt or a Skype session with the director, $150 gets you a replica hockey mask, $200 gets you a co-producer credit, $300 gets you a full size prop machete (rumored to be the biggest in the franchise), $500 gets your name on a tombstone in the film and $800 is amazing, you can be killed on screen in the movie as well as have a photo shoot and your very own kill scene short film!

Watching this interview assured me of two things, Cody Faulk has a passion for the genre and the desire to give fans the Jason they deserve.

He talks about bringing back “Jason’s balls” meaning he feels that Jason seemed to have lost his psychotic killing machine bravado in the later films of the franchise. Faulk says that his film will take place after Friday the 13th part 7,  taking part in the same universe as the original franchise. He hopes this film will be welcomed to the Friday the 13th franchise with open arms the way that Womp Stomp Films F13 fan film Never Hike Alone (movie in the link) was and be accepted and hailed as a masterful and worthy counterpart to the series. With these fan films being made, Cody is hoping that Paramount is watching and it lights a fire under them to revive the franchise and bring it back to it’s former gory glory.

Wet Paint Pictures, Cody Faulk and the cast and crew are all creating something special here and I can’t wait to see their vision become a dark, violent and sadistic slasher reality. This film will reach it’s goal and get made, the only question is; do you want to be a part of it?
