Scream Factory’s 50% Off Sale vs Amazon’s Every Day Prime Prices

I have been hearing a lot of complaining about the Scream Factory 5 year anniversary 50% off sale so I decided to do a side by side comparison on a list of 22 Scream Factory titles bought from Amazon.com vs being bought from the Scream Factory website directly.
This is being written due to the claims that all of the Scream Factory titles can be bought from Amazon for the same, or in most cases, a lesser price even with SF offering a 50% discount.
That being said, what I found was good news for the Scream Factory sale but not so good news for Scream Factory when their “50% Off” sale is over.
I compiled a list of 22 SF titles that I need for my collection and added them to my cart on both Amazon and Scream Factory sites.
The 22 titles came to $371.33 on Amazon and only $300.86 on the Scream Factory site.
Now as far as sales go and the opportunity too grab SF titles at a somewhat discounted price, this sale works.
On the flip side, Amazon isn’t having a sale, they are simply selling at normal prices with free shipping via Prime (which is what I use), so when Scream Factory’s huge sale is over this same list of 22 titles will rise back to an inflated price of $601.72, while over on Amazon they will still be available for $371.33…….Damn near 50% of what Scream factory sell their own titles for on the regular.
Am I bashing Scream Factory? Of course not. I love their releases and buying directly from them gets you exclusive posters and shipping 2 weeks before the actual street date but if you are just trying to build your collection then it appears that Amazon is the financially wise way to go.
So my advice to you is take advantage of this 50% off sales while they last , it is well worth it, if you miss it, you will always have Amazon.
